Specialists in Transaction Finance (Published September 2007)
Specialists we are, so what is our call?
Our clients are businesses, turnover £10m to small.
Some are new, some old, and some are restarts.
Some trade, some manufacture and we buy their parts.
Some sell simple products, some sophisticated.
Some buy for a pattern of sale, some for orders related.
Some in a CVA or with weak balance sheets,
they can't buy their goods, despite factoring their debts.
Suppliers are worldwide, often UK, yet many clients will
not need our money, just our covenant or skill.
They have opportunity but need our support
to deliver on time, to customer or port.
If we can provide the munitions,
we have few preconditions,
to help our client to sell,
to customers who pay well!
We are an unusual organisation. We have no sales people or marketing department. Our skilled operations people have the experience to turn enquiries into deals, and the client meets the person with whom they will be working at the first meeting. We receive the enquiries we need because many friends know we can structure a transaction safely and economically.
"Our skilled operations people have the experience to turn enquiries into deals"
"The difficult we do immediately; the impossible takes a little longer" because our aim is to be different, and to make a difference. Here are some examples:
Perhaps our wackiest transaction ever was to buy lobsters from a Russian fisherman in the Pacific, process them in Peru and sell to a customer in Canada.
Others included:
- Buy Brazilian beef sold to a UK supermarket after processing and canning in Romania.
- Charter a ship in Poland to carry timber to Saudi Arabia.
- Buy scaffolding and ladders in the UK to ship to the UN in West Africa.
- Paying 27 suppliers so our manufacturing client could deliver to Germany and America.
- When we heard on a Thursday that an internet retailer of the England Football Strip had gone into receivership, we bought the shirts on the Friday and delivered them to the supporters before the England v Turkey game the following Wednesday
- When a well-established lifeboat builder took over the orders of a company in liquidation to build fast offshore patrol boats sold under LC to a government in the Middle East, we financed the build of these boats from start to delivery
Our specialists in transaction finance solve problems, and worse.
But not always in verse!!!
